Meditations on the Sun is a short album trapped in Phil Spector-esque walls of harmonies and reverbed instruments, sort of as if you took the clean sound of Jesus and Mary Chain's Darklands and combined it with the reverb of Psychocandy. It organically blends and jumps to and from genres as disparate as twee pop and country noir. It's all pretty sparse, but it's the kind of album I'd make if I had a voice like Melodie Nelson, except, you know, more masculine. If you like good female vocals are a priority for you, you'll like Meditations on the Sun. If you've wanted Hugh Boyce (ex Dappled Cities) to get back behind a drum kit then there's that, too. Hell, if you like music, you'll probably find something to like.
